Horrocks Quarter

Preston

We have been involved in providing planning advice to the Brookhouse Group in respect of Queens Retail Park since before 2000.  The area comprising Queens Retail Park and the former E H Booths Distribution Depot is now known as Horrocks Quarter.  The redevelopment of this area forms part of the Council’s Regeneration Strategy for Preston City Centre.

Disputes between landowners and changing economic fortunes had contrived to inhibit development.  However, we have been lead consultants for various planning applications for development on the site which have been approved by the Council.  Most recently we have provided support and retail and planning statements to form part of the planning application for development on part of the area to accommodate a new Aldi supermarket.  Planning permission for this development was approved in May 2015.

We have also made representations to emerging Development Plans, most recently the Preston City Centre Plan and we expect to participate in the independent examination.
