Manchester City Council

We first provided advice to Manchester City Council on town centres and retail development in 1999.  That was in respect of a planning application for the development of a large Tesco at Burnage.  Since then, we have advised on the redevelopment of Openshaw Town Centre and Gorton.  We have undertaken a study of Newton Heath and advised on the development potential at Beswick. We have also advised on the redevelopment of Heaton Retail Park, Central Retail Park, First Street and various proposals for convenience stores within the City.  We have also been consulted by Manchester about retail developments within Salford and Trafford.

We undertook a Retail and Leisure Capacity Study for the Council to inform the Local Plan Core Strategy in 2010 and provided advice and support to the City Council throughout the independent examination.

We have also provided advice on retail matters to Salford City Council, Fylde Borough Council, Calderdale Council, High Peak Borough Council, Newcastle‑under‑Lyme Borough Council, Newark and Sherwood District Council, Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council, Oldham Council, Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council and Gwynedd County Council.
