Morrisons

Harrogate

We were engaged by Morrisons to advise on proposals to extend and remodel their supermarket at Harrogate and also assist in obtaining planning permission for additional non-food retail units on an under-utilised part of the car park.  Proposals for two new retail units were refused planning permission by Harrogate Council but were allowed on appeal.  We appeared at the planning appeal inquiry.  We then advised on an extension to Morrisons itself.  Whilst this was initially refused planning permission and an appeal was lodged, a subsequent planning application was approved avoiding the necessity for a public inquiry.

We have also advised Morrisons and secured planning permissions for redevelopment of two existing supermarkets in different locations at St Helens, the redevelopment of their old Illingworth store (Halifax) and at Keighley.

We have advised on, and secured planning permission for non-food retail units adjacent to Morrisons supermarkets located at Kendal and Bradford (Mayo Avenue).  Working for developers we have dealt with Morrisons stores at Barrow-in-Furness, Denton and Newcastle-under-Lyme.  In October 2013 we secured planning permission following an appeal against an enforcement notice relating to the development of a Morrisons Local in Staines.
