We identified the Rushgreen Road garage site as a potential retail site when undertaking an appraisal of the development potential of land nearby for development on behalf of the Brookhouse Group.  The garage site was acquired and we were lead consultants for an outline planning application.  Despite strong and vigorous objections from a competing developer, outline planning permission for a supermarket was granted in September 2014.

The development is to be occupied by Netto.  It will be one of their early new supermarkets following their re‑entry into the UK market in collaboration with Sainsbury’s.  A detailed planning application was submitted by the Brookhouse Group in January and approved in April (2015).  We provided support and retail and planning statements to form part of the planning application.

The scheme is presently under construction.
