Morecambe
We were instructed to advise the owners of the Arndale Centre within Morecambe Town Centre in respect of their aspirations for a phased redevelopment of the managed shopping centre. The first phase was to provide new large format unit shops and a budget hotel. Subsequent phases planned included the redevelopment and an extension to provide new accommodation for Tesco.
The unit shops were completed and the Travelodge opened in August 2011.
Development at Morecambe Town Centre was sensitive because of the Council’s aspirations for a major scheme within Lancaster. However, the Lancaster proposal was subsequently abandoned due to the withdrawal of the developer of that scheme.
